Nocturnal Fractals transforms a hallway of an academic institution into a surreal, living ecosystem through Spatial Augmented Reality. This installation reimagines the corridor as a sentient being that hides its mysterious identity during the day. Yet as dusk descends and footsteps fade, the hallway morphs into a living entity, a conscious passage that pulses with unseen life.
As it undergoes metamorphosis, the hallway’s concrete walls gradually dissolve, shifting into mesmerizing, algorithmic fractals that twist and fold upon themselves. The geometric complexity of these fractals hints at the corridor's memories, suggesting that the walls have silently recorded countless moments of curiosity, laughter, and contemplation. Each fractal swirl and line acts as a visual echo, unveiling the mysteries embedded within the building with moments of connection, exploration, and quiet reflection that might otherwise fade into obscurity.
